Shelby + Jimmy {St. Louis Bertrand Wedding}

I was so excited after I met with Shelby and her mom because I knew she was going to make an adorable bride. I was even more excited after the engagement session because her and Jimmy make such a cute couple. I was even MORE excited still after she put on her wedding gown because I knew I was going to have some awesome images to post.

Amanda + Ed {St. Louis Bertrand Wedding}

I feel so fortunate that Amanda and Ed chose me to be their wedding photographer.  Not only were they the perfect couple, but both the ceremony and reception venues were absolutely beautiful. We started out at the Galt House for getting ready. The ceremony was at St. Louis Bertrand in Downtown Louisville. Having a wedding at the end of November usually means there won’t be an opportunity for many outdoor photos.  It was chilly and very windy, but just warm enough that we could spend a little time outside.  I love it when couples schedule in time to do creative photos.  We were lucky enough to have an amazing sky for our downtown Louisville skyline shot, and that wind helped us make one of my most favorite wedding photos ever! We ended the day back at the Galt House for a beautifully decorated reception in the Waterford room.

Here’s a 5-minute peek at their day.

Madison + Jay {Gingerwoods Wedding, KY}

On any November 8th in Kentucky, there’s a pretty good chance it’s going to be really cold, with no leaves on the trees, and it might even be snowing. Madison and Jay must have done something right this year because their wedding day at Gingerwoods Event Hall was beautiful! Not only was there no snow, but we still had leaves on the trees and lots of sunshine. As the sun started going down and clouds rolled in right before the ceremony, the air definitely started to chill. All the guests bundled up for the beautiful outdoor ceremony. Madison and her bridesmaids couldn’t bundle up though…her girls must really love her! They stood by her side in strapless dresses the whole ceremony with smiles on their faces.

Amanda + Ed {Louisville Engagement Session}

I love engagement sessions where the couples just fit together perfectly like Amanda and Ed.  Sometimes there is a bit of awkwardness at the beginning, but it was easy to get these two comfortable in front of the camera.  I can’t wait to see what we create at the wedding!

Shelby + Jimmy {Louisville Engagement Session}

Shelby and Jimmy wanted to have engagements portraits taken at the downtown Louisville firehouse where Jimmy worked as a fireman.  Jimmy had to take a lot of harassment from his fellow firemen, but it was all worth it in the end because we got some great images.  I love the vintage “Sesame Street” firetruck!  Here are some of my favorite images from the session.

Jess + Paul {Farnsley-Moremen Wedding}

I’ve known Jess since her freshman year in high school, where she was student in my Honors Earth Science class…the one and only year I was a school teacher. (That was a very long year.)  She was one of the brightest students in the class, in both academics and personality.  I’ve enjoyed watching her grow up into an amazing young woman and was honored that she chose me to photograph her wedding.  The wedding was very “Jess,”  full of personality and charm.  Here is a slideshow with some highlights from the day, as well as a few of my favorite photos.
